Michael Legg, Artistic Director

Michael Legg is in his seventh season as Artistic Director of Montana Repertory Theatre. Prior to coming to Missoula, he was the Director of the Professional Training Company at Actors Theatre of Louisville, the nation’s leading resident training company.  At Actors, he directed world premieres of plays by A. Rey Pamatmat, Laura Jacqmin, Dan Dietz, Kyle John Schmidt, Marco Ramirez, Eric Dufault, Jennifer Haley, and Allison Moore, among others.  He spent five summers serving as the Artistic Director of WildWind Performance Lab, where he developed new plays by Brian Quijada, Hilary Bettis, Martyna Majok, Basil Kreimendahl, Emily Feldman, Steve Yockey, and Matthew Paul Olmos, among others. Legg holds an M.F.A in acting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and is a proud member of Actor’s Equity.

Mikyla Veis, Managing Producer

Mikyla has been working within Missoula's cultural landscape for many years. Prior to joining the Rep, Mikyla worked for the Zootown Arts Community Center (ZACC) during and after its transition from the Northside to Downtown Missoula, and helped build a vital platform for Missoula's performing and visual artists through her efforts as Gallery & Venue Director. Early in her career, Mikyla worked for Missoula Public Library and assisted in the MPL Foundation's Capital Campaign for a new library. A proud UM alum, Mikyla has worked with the Montana Rep in the past as a stage manager, actor, and a writer for Missoula Colony. She is excited to bring her experience and passion to the role of Managing Producer.

jason McDaniel,
Production manager

Jason McDaniel serves as production manager for both Montana Rep and the University of Montana School of Theatre & Dance. He has worked as a scenic designer, technical director, scene shop manager, automation technician, scene shop foreman, carpenter, and instructor. His experience includes work with community theatre groups, local and regional professional theatre, Broadway, and national theatrical tours. Jason received his BFA from the University of Memphis and his MFA from North Carolina School of the Arts. Before joining the Rep in 2010, he was a member of the automation team for Le Rêve, the aqua theatre-in-the-round production at Wynn Las Vegas.
