First Reads, a four-part staged reading series featuring local actors reading four contemporary plays the Rep is considering for full productions.
The plays will be The Christians by Lucas Hnath, Airness by Chelsea Marcantel, Annie Jump and the Library of Heaven by Reina Hardy, The Roommate by Jen Silverman.

“Hearth: A Yuletide Tale” takes place in a small American town in the winter of 1970 during the Vietnam War. It tells the story of a young boy, Tom, who is grieving the death of his veteran father. Tom's unique musical gift manifests when he meets a group of vagabonds and buskers. Tom hatches a plan to help and learns what it means to live in a community that cares for each other.
BUCKLE UP 2: ON THE ROAD AGAIN

The Rep commissioned five nationally renowned playwrights to each write a ten-minute play that will take place inside a vehicle parked downtown Missoula. Patrons will meet at Montgomery Distillery, pick up a map, journey to five different vehicles, slide in the backseats, and experience this unique theatrical adventure.
